Our daily life is all too often a game of "tag-you're- it" with hauling kids from one end of town to the other in rush hour traffic while eating dinner from a greasy paper bag. In an attempt to unravel ourselves from the rush, rush, rush of laundry and emails and deadlines and packed calendars, we booked a weekend at a working farm that welcomes guests to unplug and dig into farm life and leisure. We planned to unplug in every sense of the word, with not a clock or a calendar in sight. Instead, there will be plenty of roasting marshmallows, reading stories by candlelight, and strolling along country vistas. Sounds like the perfect cure for the common suburban curse.

I firmly believe in vacations where you turn off and tune out (though it's harder to get away with these days). I'd like to try a farm stay here in New England one of these days…

What a memorable experience. The cabin looks like my dream home, and I bet the boys had fun, despite the 'boredom' shots. I love how you mentioned it allowed you guys to focus more on one another as a family.

What a novel idea. Good for everyone to unplug and and awesome learning experience for the kids. They look like they were having a great time, too.
