We are fully into our fourth week on the road, and although the first three weeks have had their ups and downs, we have hit our stride and are feeling quite at home on the road. Here’s how weeks two and three count down by the numbers.
4,800: Number of miles traveled so far. I can hardly believe that, but the odometer doesn’t lie.
80: The number of driving hours we have spent in the car with four children. Let me take this moment to offer my eternal thanks to the creators of portable electronic devices.
$3.95: The average gas price per gallon.
11: The number of states we have visited so far-Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine.
16: The number of contraband Kindereggs we smuggled into the US. Shhhhh…..
26: The number of days it takes to deplete both of our propane tanks. Thankfully we discovered they were empty before we needed to heat the camper for the evening, but not soon enough to save me from having to cook dinner.
10: The number of new magnets I have added to my collection.
$78.40: The total amount spent in toll roads. Put toll roads on my list of things that exist just to rain on my parade.
6 feet 8 inches: The clearance height of our vehicle-an important thing to know if you plan to park anywhere in the city.
$16.95: The market price for whole lobster in Maine
3: The number of children who dry heaved, had to leave the table, and are likely scarred for life from watching their parents eat food with eyeballs.
26: Number of days on the road

I love that first pic of Morgan – he is my favourite little boy ever!! Can't believe you only took back 16 Kindereggs though – you have an entire camper to store them in. 🙂

It'm really enjoying following your adventure! I'm a bit confused about something, though. Why do you have to smuggle Kindereggs into the US? Perhaps this is just a naive Canadian question….. but you've really got me wondering!

Kindereggs are illegal in the US. You cannot buy then here and you cannot bring them in to the US intact. You can buy the chocolate here or you can order the toys, but you can’t have both together. It’s a choking hazard and our government must protect us from it.:)
