I have mentioned before that my oldest son was born with a natural cynicism. Not ever content to accept something as fact until he has sussed it out for himself, he is a relentless questioner. Please tell me there is some kind of career where uninhibited skepticism is celebrated, because then this kid’s got it made.
When visiting the Atreus tholos tomb in ancient Mycenae, said son arrived at the beehive shaped structure with a flashlight tucked in his pocket. It seems he had read in a history book that the domed vault contained 33 rows of stones. True to form, he wanted see for himself if the history book was accurate. With measured focus, his flashlight beam hit each row of stones until he reached 33. To be certain, he counted twice.

Tell your son to do anything that has to do with quality assurance. It's my job to make sure all books we make are perfect and to question things every step of the way so we deliver the best product possible. That obsessive attention to detail will come in handy. My mom used to shake her head at me too. I may loose my mind when I stop working in two weeks for the foreseeable future.

What an admirable quality. I say science. Anything that has to be proven over and over again.

Thanks for visiting and leaving such positive comments about my working towards my dream. You must be an awesome mother because you have a great perspective when it comes to your son. I can see that you will turn his cynicism into a positive trait for him.
Cheers,
Shanae
