German heritage takes center stage at the 2nd annual Christkindl (kris-kin-dill) Market in Arlington, TX. From November 29-December 15, the sidewalks of the Ballpark in Arlington will be transformed into a European outdoor holiday market, reminiscent of those that are found in the streets of Germany at Christmastime.
Everything from crisp apple strudel to coo coo clocks will be available to purchase and enjoy in the dozens of outdoor booths.
Not only is the market a perfect place to do some Christmas shopping, it’s also a perfect location to soak in and celebrate some German heritage. Strolling performers, folk dancers, and musical acts bring German culture to life, as visitors stroll the street sampling German sausage, pastries, candies, and biergartens.
Shops offering German décor, from pyramids to lace to blown glass are also available. On your “not to miss list” should be Kathe Wohlfahrt where you can drool over the delicately crafted Weihnachten pyramids, ornaments, and nativities,as well as the Bavarian Sweet Shop, and the Santa Haus, where you will meet a delightful Old World Santa.
Fröhliche Weihnachten!
